In the words of my favorite 90's sitcom teen idol, Joey Lawrence (a la "Blossom"): WHOA! Whodathunk I would actually get over my fear of blogging and actually start one?! Okay, maybe it wasn't my "fear" of blogging that has prevented me from realizing my secret fantasy of becoming the next Perez Hilton, or whatever blogger you find enjoyable. The real reason for the delay of my blog launch?...Laziness! Yes, I'm guilty of spending my days just sitting on my couch, a bag of Salt & Vinegar chips in hand [don't hate, those vinegar flavored chips are delicious, albeit smelly], getting lost in Law & Order SVU, CI, and NCIS marathons. God bless the good people at Sleuth and the USA network. Without them, I would have nothing. I shiver at the thought of not having Detectives Benson, Stabler, Goren, and Eames to keep me company during the day. Is anyone else as excited as I am that Goren and Eames will be back in Law & Order: CI?!!!! Oh, joy.
I've flirted with the idea of blogging in the past. I've even spent hours thinking of potential posts, blog titles, color schemes, etc. But somehow, I could never allow my creative ideas to materialize into a blog that people might actually read. So, what finally made me go over the proverbial edge and float down into the world of blogging you ask? Easy, I'm getting married. Now, I know this is supposed to be a happy time in one's life. But let me let you in on a little secret. It ain't all peaches and roses. It's meetings, budgeting, fittings, dress shopping, blah blah blah blah. Needless to say, my stress level has reached its utmost capacity, and unless I find a way to somehow relieve myself of bridal stress, I'm going to pop a blood vessel and my poor fiancee will end up alone and feeling "ronery" [move reference...guess which] while surrounded by flower arrangements and starving bridesmaids. Therefore, I decided to take my bitching to the web! Maybe I can find solace among the blogging community. Actually, I'm just too cheap to hire a therapist, and I heard blogging can be just as good. Right?
Okay, confession. I rambled on for two paragraphs about how I ended up finally creating my blog. When the real reason for my taking the plunge is...[drum roll]: The Wedding of Prince William & Kate!!!! Yes, I've jumped headfirst into the royal wedding bandwagon. And because I couldn't convince anyone to wake up at 2 a.m. to watch the wedding with me, I decided to blog about my excitement instead. I will at least have my laptop and imaginary readers to share this exciting moment with =) Three hours people! Time to prepare my tea and crumpets!
